Position Summary:

The Quality Conformance Manager-QA is responsible for maintaining the Production Quality System and associated Organization Approvals (in the frame of EASA Part 21 & EN9100).

Also contributes to the creation of an independent Quality Assurance function within the Manufacturing Organization, which will ensure Final Assembly Line remain compliant with internal and external Quality Management System requirements (customer and Aviation Authorities). The position holder will influence the Quality Controls placed inside of the manufacturing facility and therefore direct impact on the Quality output.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Quality Management System remains compliant with internal and external requirements.
  • Perform continuous oversight of the Quality Management System and its deployment within the manufacturing environment.
  • Through common and newly identified Quality Control methods, ensure that sufficient means of control are in place thereby ensuring that the manufacturing facility remains compliant to all relevant standards and procedures.
  • Review, and take action, based on an assembled set of Key Performance Indicators to ensure that standards of Quality are improved and/or adapted where necessary.
  • Maintain process oversight of all the key processes deployed within the Manufacturing environment and support functions and constantly remaining open to feedback and change.
  • Support Quality Conformance team peers to secure Quality objectives of the Airbus Quality Management System.
  • Involve and engage in product and process surveillance activities through verification of Root Cause analysis with Quality Conformance team.
  • Set Quality standards and support FAL operations during deployment of new standards and process.
  • Perform Quality Audits through a deployed system of verified compliance and report the results to the required internal/external authority.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


Preferred: Degree in Aeronautical/Industrial Engineering


Required: Minimum 5 years, preferably with an international aviation company in Aircraft Manufacturing/ Quality/Lean Management/ Quality Inspection of entire Aircraft or Aircraft installations

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:


    • Good Knowledge of non-conformance management and Root Cause Analysis methods within Airbus.
    • Strong and effective Practical Problem Solving skills (demonstrable).
    • Understanding of Kaizen approach to Manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of the Production process and build cycle.
    • Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of aircraft mechanical & electrical installation.
    • Familiar with the American aviation market, its Airlines and Airline Representatives.
    • Ability to quickly understand procedural and technical documents.
    • Strong communication skills through all levels of the organization and Functions.
    • Strong international communication skills.
    • Strong presentation skills.

Travel Required:

10% Domestic and International

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions
