Position Summary:

In this fast paced and operational environment, there is no day similar to the next. At Airbus we face daily challenges, but through collaborative teamwork we overcome them by focusing on Quality, Safety, and Customer Transparency to deliver the best possible aircraft.

In this role you will be an integral part of a core team in charge of key activities for Flight Test Operations, by being a go-to subject matter expert.

Primary Responsibilities:

Inter-program Coordination:      50%

  • Coordinate communication between Production/Quality team/Engineering and Flight Test
  • Acts as the Flight Test team representative in technical review meetings with MAP, FAL/Flightline, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams
  • Follows-up technical and quality problems such as QSR, in service events, recurrent problems in coordination with SA Aircraft Technical group.
  • Ensures the information flow between SA Aircraft technical group and Production flight test team in Mobile.

Technical Support:      30%

  • Arranges ID cards for all A220 production aircraft while working in close collaboration with FTEs
  • Build and maintain a database with technical information to support the A220 ground/flight activities.
  • Ensures technical aircraft follow-up: Flight Test Request screening, check of proper aircraft configuration, technical assistance for anomalies follow-up and resolution.
  • Responsible for confirming FTEs have the tools necessary to conduct ground/flight activities.

Other:      20%

  • He/she is in charge of all the logistics required for preparation and follow up of aspects which are necessary to efficiently handle the production ground/flight test activities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure technical information about new features or standards is distributed appropriately within the Flight Test team.
  • Maturity improvement relaying recurrent or operational issue to Development Flight/Ground Test and associated Design Office/Customer Service
  • On top of these activities, several side tasks are to be performed to allow the group to operate appropriately such as participating in software updates, shaping the future of activity by a continuous improvement of way of working.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


  • Ability to work under pressure, with short deadlines and a changing environment.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Single Aisle aircraft systems and cabin architecture knowledge
  • Operational documentation knowledge
  • More than 5 years experience in aircraft technical support and/or troubleshooting

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Licensure/Certifications:

Pilot certifications or international equivalent - preferred, but not required

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

English: Fluent

French: knowledge is appreciated


Travel Required:

10-20% Domestic & International travel for training and certification


Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 10lbs/5kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 10lbs/5kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight lines and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces
