Position Summary:
Responsible for managing and directing a Department of Manufacturing Engineering Technical Shop Floor Support.
The team is responsible to support the production group and each member is part of the Autonomous Production Team (APT)
located in the shop floor of A320 line. The position is responsible for the management, hiring and training of the new manufacturing
engineering employees. They will establish and maintain effective communications with all FAL departments (Production, Quality,
Logistics...)
The Position serves as a backup to HO Manufacturing Engineering as requested.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the team of ME Technical Shop Floor Support
- Manage non-conformities and concessions within assigned area, insure the specific work orders for FAL are released
according to the FAL Milestones
- Provide technical support to production on all issues within the escalation process.
- Manage availability of replacement parts, jigs, and tools required for work.
- Manage continuous improvement measures with recurrent non-conformities in cooperation with quality.
- Analyze current status, create reports, exchange information and regularly inform the Manufacturing Engineering back
office about all notified changes in production.
- Ensure good relationship with the ME Process Engineering department
- Manage the training and development of the team members (goals, objectives and annuals reviews...)
- Monitor team status to ensure KPIs are being meet daily, weekly, monthly and yearly
- Facilitate and develop the ME TSFS Team
- The Manager of the ME TSFS Team is accountable for the performances of the ME TSFS team department.
- Participate in the production meetings to manage urgent topics.
Additional Responsibilities / administration perspective:
- Participate as an active team member including providing support to new colleagues and trainees.
- Plan regular feedback loops with the Production Team
- Subject matter expert on-site for Manufacturing Engineering TSFS processes
- Work needs to be in accordance of the Airbus Operating System
- Participate actively to the FAL projects
- Give priorities to the Team.
- Develop / improve and track KPIs for the team
- Organize On The Job Training for the team
- Perform other duties as assigned (vacation planner; participate in SQCDP/PPC...)
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
- Required: 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Preferred: Leadership experience within fast paced manufacturing environment similar to Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site
- Preferred: Experience within Aerospace industry
- High degree of flexibility and initiative
- Proven ability to influence others and lead teams
- Proven ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously
Education:
- Required: BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Participation and/or the ability to successfully pass the following Airbus Courses:
o Airbus Gen Fam (General Familiarization)
o Airbus Manufacturing Systems AMS
o Airbus Production Rules 80T
o Corporate Presentation Skills
o Occupational Health and Safety
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
- Required:
o Possess the motivation to learn and lead
o Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings
o Able to work with the metric system
o Able to read and interpret technical standards
o Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in manufacturing engineering.

- Carrying: able to carry up to 40 lbs. /18kg. when transporting documents, printer paper and similar items.
- Lifting: able to lift up to 40lbs/18kg. On occasion.
- Pushing / pulling: able to push/pull equipment, tools, production carts and office chairs and pieces of equipment.
- Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a machine, on a tool bench or computer terminal while writing bulletins or participating in meetings.
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to regularly squat/kneel to access items or tools stored on low shelving.
- Standing: able to stand for long periods of time in meetings and discussions.
- Travel: able to travel through office/work complex and occasionally within US and internationally for business meetings.
- Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas sometimes on uneven surfaces to obtain items for work, retrieve/replace tools and to reach meetings, visitors and direct others to meetings.
