Position Summary:

The job holder is in charge of the X-Plant Team production operations and is tasked with managing and leading manufacturing activities. The objective of this role is to achieve all Outstanding Works coming from PLANTS (W/O, NC, CR.) and manage non-conformities detected on aircraft (NC, TLB, QLB, QSR) during FAL and Flightline Process. As an operations leader, the role is responsible for technical leadership along with oversight of ensuring effective coordination between the multiple processes supervised. As designated act as the deputy for the Business Unit Leader in their absence. This role is also responsible for the management of all employees assigned to the team, including but not limited to the selection, performance management, identification of development needs, and employee recognition.

Main Responsibilities

  • Management and monitoring of the XP-Team production operation
  • Airbus plants "representative" within FAL USA
  • Insure information's feedback at Plants Level and FAL Level
  • Participate in assessing the right personnel placement according to needs and the employees' qualification (present and future)
  • Making sure that Industrial Safety Regulations are strictly respected. Guide and support the employees to individual responsibility and self-control.
  • Develop plans to attract, retain and develop employees to meet industry requirements
  • Continuously identify opportunities to develop XP-Team organization to increase flexibility and manage cost
  • Ability and willing to work 2nd shift and weekends.

General responsibilities

  • Responsible to manage non-conformances detected on aircraft during FAL Process
  • Set up priorities in collaboration with FAL Station Managers
  • Ensure the performing of the specified work package in compliance with costs, schedule and quality specifications.
  • Identify and eliminate problems, which occur in the manufacturing process, as quickly and as early as possible. Anticipate, wherever possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

Strong communication skills

Strong analytical and technical skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Suites

Experience using SAP for answering non-conformances

Must be able work with cross functional and international team environment

Motivated to learn.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in manufacturing

Knowledge of non-conformities/concessions

Knowledge of supply chain management.

Knowledge of quality management systems. ex.ISO 9001

Working knowledge of basic written and spoken English.

Other desirable skills and experience

Knowledge of Airbus Industries process & methods.

Knowledge of Airbus IT-Tools (TiCon, Zamiz, TAKSY, MODA, DOcMaster)

Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3 (Module PP/PM)

A structured way of working and the ability to deal with a volume of complex information

Education/Special Qualifications:

Education:

  • A Bachelors' degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Aviation (Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, Production method, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of Leadership experience in Aviation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality / Logistics rules in aviation manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills on different levels, a structured way of working and the ability to deal with a volume of complex information.
  • Experience in a complex, growing, and dynamic environment with a matrixed reporting structure - preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Have an aptitude to plan and organize to ensure the attainment of results.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to work in different production management systems
  • High degree of flexibility and initiative
  • Industry safety practices and procedures.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Specifically, in English which is required operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Daily decisions impacting cost and quality of the a/c build, including on-time delivery. Impact of missed opportunities can create ripple effects across the Airbus Operational System, safety of the workforce, and reputation of the organization.
  • Daily decisions range in complexity that impact internal and external stakeholders. Decisions range from highly critical items regarding work allocation, planning, and resource allocation to more routine decisions around daily tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
