Position Summary: The Senior Business Analyst Logistics Airbus North America is responsible for:

All Information Management (IM) related activities for Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Services for all Airbus Commercial (US, Canada), Airbus Helicopters (US, Canada, Mexico) and Airbus Defence & Space (US) business functions dealing with:

  • Transport (Domestic, Overseas)
  • Warehouse Mgt
  • Distribution / Work Material Planning
  • Strategic alignment of IM strategy and roadmap for Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Services
  • Design and implement Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Services in North America Region (US / Canada / Mexico) in line with Airbus overall standards as defined in Europe or in the frame of the IM Region.
  • Promote and deploy state of the art digital solutions in the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Services in line with AIRBUS Operating Model and Standards.

Key Missions:

  • Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service Analyst contributes to the overall accountability on the performance (delivery, costs, people management and well-being) of the related product teams. Product scope is end-to-end (Design / Build / Run).
  • Contributes and leads aspects of the Multi-Functional Teams formation in order to manage the IT Product/Application lifecycle related to Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service
  • Drive continuous improvement of all products and services within the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service, in all aspects (financial, user experience, efficiency, effectiveness, simplification, technical performance, cyber security, resilience, obsolescence etc.) and across the full application lifecycle (design, build, run).
  • Maintain a backlog of work with clear priorities agreed with the respective business stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Contributes and leads the IT Product/Application MFT team in order to manage the IT Product/Application lifecycle, both developing the products and operating them to meet operational SLA's for the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service
  • Responsible for Continuous Release Management for the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service
  • Provide single points of contact for his/her counterpart(s) in the Functions, aligned to the level of seniority of the audience.
  • Apply the sourcing strategy through Make / Buy / Near-Shore / Off-Shore decisions and manage the supplier performance and contract for their scope, including satisfaction of IM and non-IM customers.
  • Attract, retain and engage the appropriate workforce of Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service fostering People empowerment and development, and encouraging their participation into Communities of Practice.
  • Ensure policies, standards and guidelines related to transverse governance are strictly applied in their perimeter.

This position has operational responsibility for the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service and to work with related staff located in the various Airbus North America Region to deliver the projects and services to the business: Mobile FAL, Mirabel FAL & Plant, Grand Prairie, Columbus, Fort-Erie, Queretaro.

This position is end-to-end accountable in front of all the Customers of the services delivered by the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the IM team in charge of designing, developing, maintaining and supporting Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management and accordingly recommends employee actions for employee development.
  • [Planning & Budgeting]: 50%
  • Works with IM Governance and Others IM Domains/PSL/Product & Services to identify opportunities in the IM Master Plan
  • Collaborates with group and divisional counterparts to understand and align support requirements for Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service where possible
  • Works with IM Governance to identify and capture (operational and project) license cost elements and others Recurrent Costs in the IM budget
  • Contributes to management of related budget performance
  • Identify room for improvement and activate his/her function proactively
  • Identifies first area of savings

  • Ensures and secures strategic vision alignment between his/her function and the Business
  • Manage projects that are in the scope of the Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service by using appropriate methodology (waterfall, fast track, agile)
  • Partners with the business and others IM Domains/PSL/Products & Services to ensure proper design and implementation of Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service in the frame of local, division wide or group wide initiatives
  • Ensure that projects are delivering the appropriate business value (savings, efficiency, business growth, ..)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • [Application Development, Maintenance and Support]: 50%
  • Responsible for designing, developing, deploying and supporting local applications fulfilling local business needs
  • Responsible for deploying and supporting Industry applications that are centrally developed in Europe within the mother companies
  • Responsible for guaranteeing end-to-end of services according to agreed SLAs established with the business
  • Liaise with the business and IM teams back in Europe to contribute to the design/development of solutions and prepare the deployment and support of those solutions
  • Liaise and synchronize with different IM Domains teams to ensure smooth deployment and appropriate level of performance of the end to end services
  • Organize and plan deployment activities with the support of the related staff

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with global Airbus IM Operations solutions counterparts to develop and improve standards
  • Ensures compliance with Airbus IM Operations solutions standards, security standards & evolving cyber security requirements

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Manufacturing, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master degree in Information Systems or Business is a plus

Experience:

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in application development and support in the manufacturing environment
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in an ERP environment
  • Understanding of Airbus IM standards, project and services methodologies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge in ERP software solutions such as SAP (WM/LO/PP/MM) / Log Mob Terminal / MES / Delmia Apriso (Dassault)
  • Experience in working with multicultural teams
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment
  • Able to work closely and effectively with all levels of business and IM management
  • Recognizes, and focuses department on, high priority objectives
  • Inspires trust, demonstrates flexibility, encourages frequent open communications and welcomes feedback

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, French highly recommended and due to Airbus European roots, German or Spanish language skills are a plus.

Travel Required:

  • 10% both Domestic & International.

At least 100 critical applications to deploy, maintain and support for a population of more than 1500 production support and/or production workers across Airbus Americas, Inc., Airbus Canada Limited Partnership, Airbus Helicopters, Inc., Airbus Defence & Space Inc. in various sites:

  • Mobile, Grand Prairie, Mirabel, Columbus, Mexico City, Queretaro and Fort Erie.

  • This position has the responsibility of being the IM Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service Analyst who:

  • Ensures alignment of Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service with Divisional Management across AIRBUS global business
  • Interface with the Business Functions Managers (HO Transport, HO Warehouse, HO Logistics Distribution Services, HO Supply Chain, etc...)
  • Ensure Delivery of Group Strategic Initiatives for NA Region for Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service
  • Is responsible for end-to-end IM Service Delivery on Solutions applicable for Transport / Distribution / Warehouse mgt Product/Service Business

Nature of Contacts:

  • Involved communication on a frequent basis with internal and external parties (service providers)
  • Permanent need for communication towards Airbus North America Region leadership team and to the IM employees across the region but also with IM externals and service providers
