Logistics Technician ( Temp)

Position Summary:
Locally based in Mobile, the Logistics Technician will report to the A320 Logistics Supervisor and will be in direct support of the flowline business unit logistical effort. This position will work directly with the station logistics coordinators in ensuring the right material is in place at the right time to secure the station build requirements within the A320 flowline.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assimilating and maintaining Work in Progress (WIP) parts in a small marketplace until needed by the customer
- Maintaining an inventory of parts within the marketplace and ensuring their safety and security
- Conducting parts accuracy audits of Mobile Delivery Units (MDUs) in order to ensure accuracy of material delivered to the flowline in support of flowline build plans
- Verification of MDU delivery locations in order to ensure material is delivered to the correct delivery footprint
- Retrieval and delivery of parts to specified locations (from distribution warehouse to late delivery rack, hand off to logistics coordinator etc...)
- Consolidation of parts on MDUs in order to ensure carts are returned to Logistics Service provider (LSP in a timely manner for redistribution into the delivery cycle
- Moving empty MDUs into return footprints and moving forward those that are needed later in the build plan
- Assisting with inventory of parts bins and warehouse locations
- Inventory and Monitor Free-stock and Consumable bins
Additional Responsibilities:
In addition, the jobholder will:
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized logistical operation ensuring adherence to 5S methodologies
- Assist in creating and modify existing foot prints and layouts on the flowline
- Basic data entry using keyboard and computer
- Conduct parts bin and delivery unit audits
- Other work as assigned
Education:
High School diploma required.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory required.
- Ability to work within a team
- Effective communication is a must
- Must be able to receive direction and work independently with minimal supervision
- Must possess a valid state driver's license

Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves

Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time
Able to work outside in hangers in changing locations.
Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces
