Position Summary: The Non-Recurring Cost Controller is responsible for the leading, monitoring & reporting all project, technical support and support to production costs for the A320 business line on the Mobile Manufacturing Site. This role is also responsible for implementing controlling procedures that result in the A320 meeting the Airbus Annual Operating Plan. The Non-Recurring Cost Controller must lead the alignment of non-recurring cost planning with Senior Leadership of the A320, the A320 Controller, and the non-recurring cost controlling team in Hamburg, Germany.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Reporting and Planning: 30%
  • Manage and lead the development and maintenance of non-recurring cost reporting and related performance data necessary for complete and accurate reporting on OPEX financial status.
  • Review and report on monthly results and variance reporting relative to non-recurring costs and KPIs.
  • Plan, approve, monitor and report non-recurring costs related in accordance with the Annual Operating Plan and KPIs.
  • Responsible to lead annual planning and quarterly forecasting of non-recurring cost related expenditures.
  • Responsible for providing non-recurring cost forecast to A320 Controller, FAL Senior Leadership Team and central non-recurring cost controlling team for operational planning and reporting.
  1. Business Support: 30%
  • Responsible to implement and lead the governance process for non-recurring cost planning across the A320 business line, including the coordination of Senior Leaders and the project team leads for non-recurring cost related requirements to support operating workload
  • Responsible to communicate non-recurring cost budgets and ensure adherence to budgets relative to planning
  • Responsible to support the A320 business line as part of the multi-function team in non-recurring cost planning
  1. Accounting and Tax Support: 30%
  • Support non-recurring cost forecasting for OpEX
  • Ensure monthly support for finance team for non-recurring cost related accruals and reclasses during the closing process

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Must have 5-10 years experience in Finance, Accounting or HR
  • Experience specifically related resource planning is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Ability to conduct planning and variance analysis
  • Experience in either HR or controlling, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • Experience in project and KPI management
  • Knowledge of US accounting practices and the ability to accommodate US generated information in international finance and accounting system reports

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Fluent in English. French would be a plus.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Accustomed to work with reporting systems such as SAP, Tableau or Google Studio

Travel Required:

  • <10% Domestic and International

Eligibility:

  • Able to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship

Decision Making, Complexity:

  • Autonomous and able to work with multiple stakeholders in multiple companies and countries
  • Must be able to make independent decisions directly related to asset management and investment recommendations to senior management

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

  • Responsible for managing the A320 business line's non-recurring cost budgets
  • Responsible for advising senior management and A320 controller on non-recurring cost planning directly linked to OpEX budgets

  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
