Position Summary: The Director of Employment is responsible for leading and developing a team in executing proactive, strategic talent acquisition strategies which build a strong employer brand. This role is accountable for the Mobile Manufacturing Site end-to-end attraction, selection and hiring practices as well as the transition to onboarding and is functionally tied to the National Recruitment Team. This position owns the entire candidate experience. The role will design, implement and deliver, in partnership with internal customers and HR business partners, an effective talent strategy to source and attract the highest caliber talent to support the company strategy, as well as current and future growth from entry level to executive level positions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for local recruitment and manpower planning activity at the site level.
  • Manage the coordination of recruitment through external providers and ensure performance meets expectations.
  • Responsible to engage third party vendors that supply temporary recruitment services to ensure performance in line with manpower planning requirements.
  • Oversee the review of manpower planning for the site on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Responsible to report on recruitment KPI's for the site as well as individual programs.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans for talent acquisition at the Mobile Manufacturing site (MMS) that is linked with the overall North America strategic plan.
  • Analyzes and plan around forecasted staffing needs, maintain forecasting dashboards, and comparative data on results vs forecasts that will be consolidated at site, national and regional levels.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions. Address workforce issues within the company and applies information to forecast future issues.
  • Collaborates closely with the Community of Practice for Employment in the US in order to ensure consistency at national level in terms of employment strategy, processes and ways of working across the country.
  • Attraction & Selection - Consistently supports employer branding, design and implement recruiting strategies, lead all sourcing strategies, monitor recruitment procedures, build pipelines for current and future openings, Aligned with the Community of Practice.
  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure the recruiters role emphasizes a value-added service delivery performance approach based on Airbus values and Airbus employment standards.
  • Supports the design and improvement while monitoring recruitment workflows to ensure processes and performance are effective and efficient.
  • Collaborates closely with the Employment Marketing Manager in the US to ensure full alignment and support with/from the national CoE and alignments with local stakeholders.
  • Responsible for coordination of onboarding, ready to operate (RTO) and overall candidate experience.
  • Ensures coordination across all areas of talent acquisition within MMS and linked to North America to ensure a consistent experience for the internal and external customer regardless of the role or level of role within the organization.
  • Oversee utilization of temporary and agency staff throughout system to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and centralized reporting.
  • Support development/implementation and monitors surveys of new hires and of the hiring managers to ensure excellence in service for stakeholders.
  • Candidate Experience - Oversee all stages of the candidate experience, ensure recruiters, sources, coordinators are managed trained and evaluated, while measuring key recruitment metrics.
  • Support the design and evaluation of ongoing strategies for onboarding new employees.
  • Support the implementation of a region wide Onboarding program to ensure success from hire through the first six months of employment with the idea of developing an army of employment ambassadors to share their experience with Airbus.
  • Responsible for reporting employment metrics and maintaining employment dashboards reporting at program, site regional and national level.
  • Collaborate with all customer groups to ensure the applicant tracking system is functioning at optimal level for a good candidate experience and reporting.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and reporting recruitment/ hiring metrics on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for program and site.
  • Responsible for reporting inclusion and diversity metrics.
  • Support the deployment of a new ATS by working closely with the project team, act as local Subject Matter Expert for Mobile supporting the national Employment SME and ensure the full involvement of the local recruitment team in the transition and the implementation of the new tool.

  • Responsible to drive and mature the AOS Absenteeism Brick.

Qualified Experience/Skills/Training:


  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or JD), preferred.


  • 10+ years professional employment marketing and recruiting experience at various professional levels.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Proven capability to work within an international team.


  • SHRM/PHR certifications, preferred.
  • Employment law or employee relations certifications, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and engage & align with agency partners, client groups and candidates.
  • Proven ability to deliver and achieve results in a fast paced, dynamic and changing environment.
  • Proven organization skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work in an environment with competing demands.
  • Knowledge of EEO, AA, OFCCP compliance and U.S. employment laws.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare executive level presentations

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Advanced level capability with Google Suite and MS Office productivity tools.
  • Experience with Tableau, Google Data Studio or similar software, preferred.
