Position Summary:

The Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management Airbus North America is responsible for:

  • All IM related activities for Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management for all Airbus Commercial (US, Canada), Airbus Helicopters (US, Canada, Mexico) and Airbus Defence & Space (US) business functions dealing with:
  • Transport (Domestic, Overseas)
  • Warehouse management
  • Distribution / Work Material Planning
  • Strategic alignment of IM strategy and roadmap for Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management
  • Design and implement product service management for transportation, distribution, and warehouse management in North America (US / Canada / Mexico) in line with Airbus overall standards as defined in Europe or in the frame of the IM Region.
  • Promote and deploy state of the art digital solutions in line with AIRBUS Operating Model and Standards.

Key Missions:

  • Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management has overall accountability on the performance (delivery, costs, people management and well-being) of the related product teams. Product scope is end-to-end (Design / Build / Run).
  • Responsible for Multi-Functional Teams formation in order to manage the IT Product/Application lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement of all products and services in all aspects (financial, user experience, efficiency, effectiveness, simplification, technical performance, cyber security, resilience, obsolescence, etc.) and across the full application lifecycle (design, build, run).
  • Maintain a backlog of work with clear priorities agreed with the respective business stakeholders.
  • Develop people, skills, and career, aimed at people adaptability/employability and anticipate future needs for the company.
  • Acts as an advocate on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure his/her function's services & products meet his/her business objectives.
  • Represents his/her function and promotes its vision, value, services, and capabilities.
  • Enable an optimum relay between strategic decisions and commitments taken from IM Leadership Team and Business counterpart(s).
  • Consolidate at PSL E2E Planning & Logistics level budget figures split by RC and NRC


  • Leads the IT Product/Application MFT team in order to manage the IT Product/Application lifecycle, both developing the products and operating them to meet operational SLA's for the Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management
  • Responsible for Continuous Release Management for the Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management

  • Works with the IM Product Managers and Business Process Owners to propose convergence/decommissioning plans of the related products. Target being to reduce the technical debt, leveraging the standards and new technical solutions coming from IM. This will also be done in close relationship with the Business to assess impacts (Training, adoption efforts, renegotiated SLA/ RC)
  • Fosters innovation and ensures a pipeline of innovative features and technologies is maintained to feed roadmap evolutions.
  • Leads the design authority (architecture choices; technical standards) in close collaboration with IM Enterprise Architects.
  • Cultivate close and productive relationships with peers and business leaders to create a well-balanced, transparent, prioritized backlog of both transformational and business continuity objectives.
  • Participate in the IM & Business collective portfolio governance to ensure value driven investments prioritized at company level.
  • Drive portfolio management on his/her perimeter: manage allocation of business continuity and run budget envelopes.
  • Provide single points of contact for his/her counterpart(s) in the Functions, aligned to the level of seniority of the audience.
  • Apply the sourcing strategy through Make / Buy / Near-Shore / Off-Shore decisions and manage the supplier performance and contract for their scope, including satisfaction of IM and non-IM customers.
  • Ensure policies, standards and guidelines related to transverse governance are strictly applied.

This position has management and operational responsibility for various Airbus North America Regions: Mobile FAL, Mirabel FAL & Plant, Grand Prairie, Columbus, Fort-Erie, Queretaro.

This position is accountable for Customers of the services delivered by the Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management

Primary Responsibilities:

[People]: 30%

  • Manages the IM team in charge of designing, developing, maintaining and supporting Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management and accordingly recommends employee actions including hiring, promotion, transfer and discharge.
  • Plans and directs Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management staffing, performance and employee development.

[Planning & Budgeting]: 10%

  • Works with IM Governance and Others IM Domains/PSL/Product & Services to identify opportunities in the IM Master Plan.
  • Collaborates with group and divisional counterparts to understand and align support requirements for Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management where possible.
  • Works with IM Governance to identify and capture (operational and project) license cost elements and others Recurrent Costs in the IM budget
  • Manages related budget performance
  • Identify room for improvement and activate his/her function proactively
  • Identifies first area of savings

[Projects]: 30%

  • Ensures strategic vision alignment between his/her function and the Business
  • Manage projects using appropriate methodology (waterfall, fast track, agile).

Partner with the business and other IM Domains/PSL/Products & Services to ensure proper design and implementation of local, division wide, or group wide initiatives

  • Ensure that projects are delivering the appropriate business value (savings, efficiency, business growth, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

[Application Development, Maintenance and Support]: 20%

  • Responsible for designing, developing, deploying and supporting local applications fulfilling local business needs.
  • Deploy and support Industry applications that are centrally developed in Europe within the parent companies.
  • Guarantee end-to-end of services according to established SLAs.
  • Liaise with the business and IM teams in Europe to contribute to the design/development of solutions and prepare the deployment and support of those solutions.
  • Liaise and synchronize with different IM Domain teams to ensure smooth deployment and appropriate level of performance of the end to end services.
  • Organize and plan deployment activities.

  • Collaborates with global Airbus IM Operations solutions counterparts to develop and improve standards.
  • Ensures compliance with Airbus IM Operations solutions standards, security standards & evolving cyber security requirements.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


  • Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • At least 5-10 years of experience in application development and support in the manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5-10 years of Project Management experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in people management
  • Understanding of Airbus IM standards, project and services methodologies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of IT supplier landscape in North America is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of Procurement / General Procurement / Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge in software solutions such as SAP (WM/LO/PP/MM) / Log Mob Terminal / MES / Delmia, Apriso (Dassault).
  • Experience in working with multicultural teams.
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Able to work closely and effectively with all levels of business and IM management
  • Recognizes, and focuses department on, high priority objectives.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, French highly recommended and due to Airbus European roots, German or Spanish language skills are a plus

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • SAP, Analytics solutions (Palantir, Clik Sense, Skywise, etc.),

Travel Required:

  • 10% both Domestic & International.

At least 100 critical applications to deploy, maintain and support for a population of more than 1500 production support and/or production workers across Airbus Americas, Inc., Airbus Canada Limited Partnership, Airbus Helicopters, Inc., Airbus Defence & Space Inc. in various sites:

Mobile, Grand Prairie, Columbus, Mexico City, Queretaro and Fort Erie.

Staff of around 4 people (direct employees) located within ALL AIRBUS NA Manufacturing Sites (Mirabel / Mobile / Fort Erie / Queretaro / Grand Prairie / Columbus)

Extended Staff of around 5-10 indirect people (Consultant and Subcontractors)

This position has the responsibility of being the IM Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management who:

Ensures alignment of Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management with Divisional Management across 3 Legal entities

Interface with the Business Functions Managers (HO Transport, HO Warehouse, HO Logistics Distribution Services, HO Supply Chain, etc...)

Ensure Delivery of Group Strategic Initiatives for NA Region for Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management

Is responsible for end-to-end IM Service Delivery on Solutions applicable for Product Service Manager--Transportation and Distribution Warehouse Management Business

Nature of Contacts:

  • Involved communication on a frequent basis with internal and external parties (service providers)
  • Permanent need for communication towards Airbus North America Region leadership team and to the IM employees across the region but also with IM externals and service providers
