Position Summary: The Technical Learning Advisor works alongside the organization to ensure compliance to regulations which are governed by (FAA, TCCA and EASA etc.) the main responsibility of the role is to ensure that the competency of employees is up to date and in line with each program's quality management system inside of the production organization authority (POA).

Primary Responsibilities:

Competency Management: 90%

  • Support organization in understanding current status of competency and support in ensuring training plans are in place that support in the closure of any identified competency GAP's.
  • Facilitate the running of regular routines at work stations to ensure that training gaps are clearly understood using the AOS tool known as Poly-poly.
  • Support organization in ramp up situations with updating of training passports, poly tool and support as requested by teams.
  • Ensure that job profiles are up to date in relevant learning management systems (Strategia, MyPulse, MyLMS and/or MyHR) in line with program quality management systems & relevant POA.
  • Obtain training requests from teams in the organization and relay requests to the training team to ensure accurate follow up and completion.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of KPIs which are reported to senior management during bi-weekly routines to track performance to competency GAP Closure.
  • Create dedicated learning paths for employees to ensure training is available to fulfill competency needs for each specific job profile.

  • Develop and present written and verbal information to key stakeholders
  • Support training team where applicable.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training or manufacturing industry experience.

Experience:

  • Essential:
  • 1-2 years of training experience or 2-3 years of manufacturing industry experience.
  • Preferred:
  • Demonstrated experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Previous training experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Required:
  • Intermediate presentation and facilitation skills including verbal communication, listening and managing group dynamics.
  • Excellent time and priority management skills.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Fluent written and spoken English is required; French would be a plus.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Intermediate level skills in both G Suite and Microsoft word, PowerPoint, excel

Travel Required:

  • 5%

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to observe manufacturing operations including equipment as well as individual tasks.
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings and on the production floor and flight line. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment as well as production-related tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and power drills, etc.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 50lbs/22kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs/22kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items on production and in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer, in meetings and observing production processes.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time, often on concrete floors observing production operations or delivering information.
  • Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time, at short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
