Position Summary:

Responsible for managing/monitoring all non-conformities, design deviations, OSW, and late changes to support production. Responds to technical questions, creates work orders based on non-conformities, and attends section handovers. Establishes and maintains effective communication with European plants, on-site production team, quality, suppliers, design engineers, and aircraft coordinators.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as FAL focal point regarding plant activities and their suppliers through constant coordination and monitoring.
  • Steer/challenge all non-conformities, concessions, and OSW within assigned plant responsibility.
  • Organize/facilitate regular meetings with suppliers/partners (Folio reviews, drumbeat, multi-function team (MFT), etc.).
  • Ensure non-compliance management according to Airbus and Authority rules.
  • Provide technical support to X-Plant production.
  • Establish/verify the technical content of non-conformities and validate in documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate as an active team member including providing orientation to new colleagues and trainees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous participation and/or the ability to successfully pass the following Airbus Courses:
    • Airbus Gen Fam (General Familiarization)
    • Airbus SA Familiarization (EL01)
    • Airbus Manufacturing Systems AMS
    • Quality Management for Self-Inspection (QS1)
    • Airbus Production Rules 80T
    • Corporate Presentation Skills
    • Occupational Health and Safety


  • Required: working with systems in different languages other than English, preferably either French, German or Spanish.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of relevant work experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably with an aviation company.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Required:
    • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills along with effective analytical and technical competencies.
    • Possesses the motivation to learn.
    • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and tools used in manufacturing engineering.
    • Ability to work within cross functional and international team environment.
    • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and tools used in manufacturing engineering.
    • Knowledge about non-conformities/concessions.
    • Knowledge of quality management systems.
    • Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing.
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of Airbus Industries electrical processes & methods.
    • Knowledge of Airbus IT-Tools (TiCon, Zamiz, TAKSY, DOcMaster).
    • Knowledge of common applications such as SAP/R3 (Module PP/PM).

Communication Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of basic written and spoken English.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: able to see and utilize fine work tools, computer screens; able to move through office and from point to point to find specific co-workers and in-house experts.

  • Speaking: able to participate in normal business conversations.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to use work tools defined in job description with skill and acceptable results; able to operate standard office equipment and utilize electronic id to enter building.
  • Carrying: able to carry up to 40 lbs. /18kg. when transporting documents, printer paper and similar items.
  • Lifting: able to lift up to 40lbs/18kg. On occasion.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push/pull equipment, tools, production carts and office chairs and pieces of equipment.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a machine, on a tool bench or computer terminal while writing bulletins or participating in meetings.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to regularly squat/kneel to access items or tools stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for long periods of time in meetings and discussions.
  • Travel: able to travel through office/work complex and occasionally within US and internationally for business meetings.
