Position Summary:

Within the framework of the consolidated North America General Procurement organization, the incumbent is responsible for the local management of one or more entities covering the Account Management activities as well as local Fulfillment Management (Operations and Local Sourcing). The incumbent drives the operational compliance to the General Procurement Process and Global strategies supporting the alignment between divisions. The Key Account Manager is responsible to insure a positive internal customer relationship with the procurement organization.


Primary Responsibilities:

Integration of teams:

o Manage the evolution of the North American General Procurement organization and ensure the suitability of local conditions for the General Procurement staff while ensuring all operational activities and local sourcing are not interrupted. Collaborate with other Airbus functions to facilitate ongoing sustainability of procurement operations for designated team(s).

o Serves as a champion of change that result in improved operations and financial measures.

Account Management:

o General Procurement Focal point for Management and Operations in assigned customer organizations and entities. The KAM is generally assigned a certain sites which are belong to Mobile (FALs) region.

o Manage the relationship with internal business partners to achieve target levels of customer satisfaction for assigned site and divisions. Works closely with the Regional Director of General Procurement and drives local multi-functional teams (MFTs) to maximize visibility on procurement planning.

o Establish and ensure regular two-way communication with key functional and local customers; manage the integration with General Procurement in North America and worldwide.

o Participate in and convene meetings between appropriate Airbus leaders and other meetings with key actors engaged in the general procurement process to address their questions and concerns and collect actionable data to improve general procurement processes.

o Drive compliance to Airbus General Procurement and related processes through strong communication with internal customers.

o Responsible for activities between assigned customers and buyers including coordinating proposals for SLA change requests and clarifying agreements to ensure customer satisfaction.

Fulfillment Responsibilities:

o Responsible for all Operational, Tactical and Local Sourcing activities for certain Commodities (Corporate/Engineering/ Manufacturing/ ..). As such, he is responsible to implement the commodity

strategy in Americas and be the referee/focal point of the Commodity for Americas

o Monitor and, when needed, initiate actions to facilitate timely payment to the supplier minimizing disruption of Airbus processes.

o Resolve general procurement process blockages and recommend solutions to operational and organizational problems.

o Drive implementation and manage on-going operations to maximize customer satisfaction and internal operational efficiencies and guide achievement for transition of activities to meet target scenarios. This includes ongoing delivery of digital solutions.

o Key performance indicators (KPI's) showing service delivery reality and expected service levels for operational ordering, sourcing projects, savings targets, etc. The KPI's and actions taken based on their output are communicated with internal customers and through the General Procurement organization.

Savings Program Support

o Develop operational methods and procedures which support savings program targets at local and site levels. Escalate blockages to Regional Director, if needed.

o Collaborate with Commodities and Central Savings Program Team to achieve benefits of local sourcing activities.

o Report savings to the One Roof organization in a timely way through the standard mechanisms.

Local Team Management

o Provide leadership, direction and establish realistic and achievable goals for each team member including regular feedback, training and recognition consistent with achievements.

o Represent the group and individual team members to HR and relay HR policies and procedures to team members encouraging direct contact whenever possible and appropriate.

o Develop and manage according to approved budget and headcount levels and implement operational goals that achieve specified results.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and set expectations for the same level of flexibility in subordinates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Deputy of the Regional Director of General Procurement.
  • Drives the new companies incorporation into Airbus Americas for General Procurement
  • Drive non-flying procurement contributions to projects affecting assigned teams / organizations / HMGs. This includes serving as the focal point for major capital investments and if applicable, the ramp up of manufacturing activities with all associated non-flying procurement inputs. Ensure strong liaison with all GP in the Americas, GP in Europe and relevant business partners. In the context, the incumbent is responsible for delivery of objectives in accordance with Airbus project management methods.

Qualifications Experience/Skills/Training:

  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive procurement experience in North America. Preferred experience with increasingly higher level of authority and accountability.
  • Knowledge of Technology, Manufacturing, Risk Management & Business Case Analysis & TCO Approach.
  • Management or leadershipexperience in the general procurement or associated
  • Procurement process and advanced negotiation skill.
  • Project Management Excellent skills to motivate multi-functional teams in situation of often conflicting objectives (Internal Customer, Supplier, Budget) to perform in-country RFX`s and procurement projects.
  • Knowledge of North American supplier base and cost structure.
  • Awareness on applicable Laws (labor, IP, international trade).
  • Knowledge of additional functions including: finance, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a participant and leader on a work-focused team.
  • Strong adherence to ethics & compliance.
  • Ability to interact with top management and to deal with sensitive topics

Education/Special Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration (MS preferred) or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fluency in written and verbal English. Fluency in French, German and/or Spanish is highly desirable.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking:able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
