Position Summary: The Material Control Continuous Improvement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Material Control Continuous Improvement Manager with short, medium, and long term projects. Responsibilities may consist of improving the line logistically, project graph development, project deployment follow-up, organizing meetings, running reports, and other tasks as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports in the identification and implementation of the short, medium and long term actions to continuously improve material control operations in the A220 Mobile environment
  • Ensures actions/projects have a clear positive business case with payback associated to either unit cost or product quality
  • Assists the Mobile Site Material Control focal point for all Mirabel led improvement initiatives
  • Assists with the project management of Material Control improvement initiatives from inception to completion, using Airbus benchmark Project Management tools and processes
  • Assists with trolley/foam modifications and database (PickPull) are performed on time, quality, and at cost. Including overall budget management of the WMP business service cost center.
  • Assists with Part Presentation Project to improve efficiency and quality of part presentation, taking into account the full E2E logistics and Material Control process.
  • Helps the Project Manager with A220 Program requirements during move and setup to Padgett Switch Off-site Logistics Center.
  • Helps with documenting improvements on technical processes/procedures and contributes to the overall Global strategy of Material Control, Supply Chain, Material Management and Logistics for the A220 Program, as it impacts Production Planning and/or Project deliverables.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and assists the Project Manager with meetings and workshops with stakeholders for process improvements and project goals.
  • Any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Must be a Junior or Senior in pursuit of a degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Supply Chain & Logistics

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate would have 1+ years experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Project Management experience. Additionally, experience in an international company within a manufacturing or aviation setting would be a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze situations and provide solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google applications
  • Ability to work in an intercultural multifunction teams

Preferred:

  • Detailed knowledge of common applications (i.e., SAP/R3)
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain/Logistics and operational processes
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and apply LEAN knowledge and techniques
  • Demonstrated Continuous Improvements skills such as Kaizen

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Able to enter and retrieve information using a computer (SAP, Excel and Access advanced user)

  • Reports to the Material Control Continuous Improvement Manager, supporting the development, implementation, management, and execution of Material Control Continuous Improvement activities to achieve cost reduction and part quality improvements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions. Must be able to read wire numbers, and differentiate colors
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time on short notice.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
