Position Summary: 

The Airbus Operating System (AOS) Logistics Intern will assist and support Airbus FAL US. With a proven "Can Do" attitude, the jobholder will support the AOS and Lean Line design Team to optimize logistics and material delivery to achieve day by day material delivery and improve the Point of Delivery for optimal Point of Use. Over the course of the position, the jobholder will improve Milk run process for material delivery from hub to shop floor, increase efficiency, and participate in AOS (Operational Excellence methodology) assessment management.


Essential Functions:

  • Support Milk Run Deployment:
    • Support the Milk Run project objectives
    • Produce consumption reports and perform root cause of non-consumptions
    • Work with Industrial Engineers to implement changes to planning and sequencing for issues related to planning
    • Lead the activity to define the Point of Use and Point of Delivery for material delivery
    • Support to define processes for WIP management for optimal OSW flow
  • Support the Industrial Engineering team to define the right Logistics Clusters
  • Map the current layout and analyze the current movements and purpose PoU/PoD through spaghetti diagram analysis
  • Value Stream Mapping Support
    • Support the development of Value Stream Mapping with data collection-- coordinating MFT members to collect the as-is situation of the station
    • Support AOS Change Agents on Gemba walks to identify bottlenecks in different stations
    • Identify bottlenecks in logistics flow and coordinate Kaizen bursts for improvements
    • Support workshops to define the to-be situation
  • Support the HO AOS on project management tasks
    • Monthly assessments of AOS maturity criteria
    • Support Ho AOS to prepare monthly reports on status


Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements (Skills needed):


  • Knowledge of Basic manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google suite.


  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Candidate Must be available to work 30+ hours a week.


Education/Special Qualifications (schooling, certifications):

A current student enrolled full-time or part-time in a 4 year or 2 year institution.

Working Conditions:

Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens.  Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.


Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.

Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 30lbs/14kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.

Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.

Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.

Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations.

Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
