Position Summary: 

The Airbus Operating System (AOS) Industrial Engineering Intern will assist and support Airbus FAL US. With a proven "Can Do" attitude, the jobholder will support the Lean Line design team in Standard line balancing and implementing a Robust Production pace control pace, with the aim of optimizing the industrial process, whilst observing safety, cost, quality and lead-time. Over the course of the position, the jobholder will support Standard Line Balancing and Implementing production pace control.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize Smart Goals:
    • Use MTM Analysis to update accurate STV times in Work Order.
    • Standard Time Variance (STV) of allocated work order by Airbus Times studies method following aircraft build on the shop floor
  • Implement Robust Work Content Trackers and PPC routines
    • Identify work content tracker for each station with clear red/white spaces
    • Update work content tracker with STV time study data
  • Work with Industrial Engineer of each station to update the planning tool. Work with station managers to implement PPC routines to track STV allocated vs. STV earned vs. disruption.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements (Skills needed):

  • Knowledge of Basic manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google suite.

 

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Candidate Must be available to work 30+ hours a week.

 

Education/Special Qualifications (schooling, certifications):

A current student enrolled full-time or part-time in a 4 year or 2 year institution.

Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens.  Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

 

Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.

Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 30lbs/14kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.

Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.

Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.

Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
