Position Summary:

Utilizing existing build plans, perform the methodical planning, coordinating and controlling of activities along the A320 Final Assembly Line.   Implement dynamic planning and production control focused on ensuring a timely and cost-effective process that produces on-time and on-quality aircraft through Final Phase Operations.  Works with Multi-Functional Team to coordinate optimal utilization of resources, including work instructions, material, and manpower.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in production activity control to meet business and financial objectives.
  • Develop dynamic planning of activities across multi-functional teams and work stations to ensure optimal sequence of work
  • Review production plans to identify and report potential risks to Manager.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule.
  • Assist Operations Leaders in controlling production costs while maintaining the quality standards.
  • Review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and schedules.
  • Monitor execution of job orders and adjust schedules for timely delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on company objectives, production strategies and support activities.
  • Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations.
  • Plan equipment, material and manpower needs for job order.
  • Coordinate with Manager in resolving production planning and control issues.
  • Work with Manager to prepare job order documents and give timely approvals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to complete job orders on-time and within customer specifications.
  • Communicate production updates to Managers and customers on regular basis.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Aviation, Business Administration, or similar discipline is required or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Generally 5 years of experience in area of responsibility or 2 Years of experience with a Master's Degree.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Experience in similar activities (planning or production planning)
  • Prior aircraft Manufacturing/ maintenance and repair experience.

Knowledge:

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles and practices in their work assignments which typically are moderately complex in nature.
  • Ability to implement and standardize proposed solutions.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, and incorporation of Lean processes and concepts into daily activities.
  • Driven and motivated to lead, with a pro-active approach to problem solving, able to deliver complex tasks to time, costs and quality.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to keep good relationship with all Internal / External Customers

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to develop dynamic and effective production planning.
  • Experience with SAP and work-order scheduling systems
  • Able to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel knowledge required)

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.
  • Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft. 
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions
