Position Summary:

Responsible for providing the learning, tools and techniques that give managers and associates the skills, abilities and proficiencies that working together enable them to create a unified, vibrant, quality manufacturing function that is fully integrated into the A320 Family Program and the larger global FAL community.


Essential Functions:

  • Engage with FAL employees as individuals and groups to identify opportunities for improvement, as well as operational inconsistencies which when addressed with LEAN tools can change and benefit operations and improve operational and interpersonal quality.
  • Function as a champion for change in the FAL in multiple ways: from direct training, to sponsoring effective application of LEAN techniques to operational situations to engaging with employees in assessing key elements of success and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support FAL Lean initiatives that are focused on the development of a sustainable Lean culture consistent with the Airbus Operating System.
  • Create, implement and document methods, tools, processes and standards relevant to the AOS/Lean deployment in the FAL PPCB, AVL2 Alignment, Line Balancing, PMC, SQCDP, PPS, Process Confirmation, Performance Dialogue, KAIZENs, etc.
  • Develop and deliver training concepts and techniques on AOS/Lean competencies based on qualification matrices deployed within the FAL.
  • Train, mentor and coach other employees to ensure a successful and sustainable AOS/Lean deployment.
  • Set-up, monitor and steer all change processes and project management events involving employees coming from different companies, countries and cultures to ensure a proper integration of all parties within the FAL.
  • Collect and analyse data and information to support the preparation of business cases for change, improvement and optimization projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop, moderate and chair workshops within the FAL to resolve business and cultural issues respectively



Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements :

  • Using validated samples to identify, communicate and promote the use of Lean tools and techniques for effective problem-solving at all levels.
  • 1-3 years of experience in AOS/Lean implementation projects.
  • 1-3 years experience in leading change management through example.
  • Knowledge of the Airbus A320 Family and processes with an Airbus FAL plant.
  • Knowledge of project management tools.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to structure tasks while dealing with a high volume of complex information and specific deadlines.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills including influencing skills.


Education/Special Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Organizational Design or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Working Conditions:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 30lbs/14kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
