Position Summary:

  • This positions responsibility is to actively manage flow of materials to the facility. The position will work within a multifunctional team and will be the first contact for operations on any ordering, planning and logistical issues. Managing demand, ensure requirements are communicated to suppliers, forecasting, analyzing late deliveries and negotiate the logistics process. Supply chain monitoring on a day-to-day basis and regular contact with suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Placing purchase orders according to the commodity. Identify and evaluate disturbances in Supply chain and improve related processes.
  • Ensure contract terms with suppliers are being met.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing philosophies and techniques
  • Perform material planning and ordering for free stock, flying consumables and safety stock.
  • Track and trace the physical position and status of material and material delivery units.
  • Coordinate reassignment of Aircraft parts, including the corresponding documentation.
  • Support operations line side on rework/concession parts supply. Manage inventory and order management with suppliers. Ensure outsourced parts are delivered on time, cost and quality
  • Focal point for logistic service provider and supplier on-site support.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain and Information Systems

Qualified Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detailed knowledge of common applications. SAP/R3
  • Experience in supply chain management Working knowledge of Logistics processes
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Understanding of aircraft manufacture assembly and production
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in an intercultural multifunction teams

Education/Special Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in supply chain and logistics in an international aviation company.
  • Combination of experience or degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Carrying: Able to carry up to 10lbs/5kg
  • Hearing: Able to hear to participate in phone and in-person conversations also able to hear sirens, alarms and other emergency signals.
  • Lifting: Able to lift up to 10lbs/5kg
  • Pushing / Pulling: Able to push/pull items over short distances and only on occasion.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for long period of time in meetings; drafting computer-based documents, sometimes with limited breaks.
  • Speaking: Able to speak and conduct conversations often for extended periods of time in meetings, negotiations and training.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat and kneel occasionally mainly to replace or retrieve items from low storage.
  • Standing: Able to stand for long periods of time, touring vendor facilities, traveling and similar activities.
  • Travel: Able to travel domestically and internationally sometimes on short notice.
  • Vision: Able to see to operate a computer and create documents; make presentations in small and large groups and observe items, processes, storage areas, delivery systems, etc.
  • Walking: Able to walk as needed sometimes for extended periods of time and distance for travel; touring vendor premises, etc.
