Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual material forecasts for suppliers, consistent with Operations forecasts and Finance provisions. Creating and placing purchase orders according to the commodity. Identify and evaluate disturbances in Supply chain and improve related processes .
  • Ensure contract terms with suppliers are being met. Analyzing delays, prioritize urgencies, analyzing changes in supplier performance , collaborating with the Buyers in Europe for contract adherence, reporting of data regarding supplier performance, non-conformities and Quality issues experienced to SCQM's.
  • Follow up on deadlines provided by Program planning, revision of ordering and forecasting as required, organizing the deliveries on site in communication with Logistics, managing non-quality materials by tracing and managing all problems encountered and managing returns for rework or repair.
  • Responsible for stock management and JIT deliveries. Business expert for ongoing projects to improve the Supply Chain.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing philosophies and techniques, adherence to Airbus established processes. Approval of invoices related to direct ordered material, ensure supplier pricing adherence to contracts.
  • Track and trace the physical position and status of material and report to the customer.
  • Coordinate reassignment of Aircraft parts, including the corresponding documentation.
  • Focal point for logistic service provider and supplier on-site support for direct ordered materials.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Logistics and Information Systems.

 

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detailed knowledge of common applications ie. SAP/R3
  • Experience in supply chain management/procurement
  • Working knowledge of Logistics processes
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Understanding of aircraft manufacture assembly and production
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in an intercultural multifunction team

           

Education / Special Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in Supply Chain and Logistics or Procurement, preferably in an international aviation company
  • Combination of experience or degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.
