Position Summary:

Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility is looking for a candidate to join the Technical Support Organization to support the H/O X-Plant Manufacturing Engineering and H/O Backshop & Pre-Assembly providing data collection and analysis.

Back shop & Pre-Assembly is looking to expand manufacturing capabilities and requires analysis of materials, manufacturing and machining processes.

This is expected to be approximately a twelve (12) month Internship. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis of Backshop capabilities and current processes and methods.
  • Extracting an analyzing concession data to understand all details of special parts currently procured and used on aircraft.
  • Material analysis and collection outlining material composition and special protections required.
  • Data Reporting
  • Provide KPI and reports as required to H/O Backshops & Pre-Assembly.

Additional Responsibilities:  

  • Backshop Capability Project
  • Support H/O Backshops & Pre-Assembly.

 

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

  • In school for Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of material, metallic manufacturing processes and assemblies.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously.

Education:

  • Completed High School.
  • In College for Aerospace Engineering Degree or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Microsoft Programs at an advanced level
  • Motivation to learn.
  • Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
  • Able to read and interpret technical standards.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in manufacturing engineering.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: able to operate personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors.
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions
