Position Summary: ensure compliance to regulations (FAA, transport Canada, EHS, etc.) and manage mandatory certifications and QAPI in area under own responsibility

Essential Functions:

  • Implement and maintain performance-based learning system in area under own responsibility; all employees need to follow site integration training program.
  • execute training needs analysis (based on requests, technical evaluation or competency gap results, critical skills analysis results, performance issues or top 3 rnc investigations)
  • develop or review technical learning solutions in compliance with performance-based learning system and aligned with technical diagnosis realized and to close any technical competency gaps identified
  • prepare for and deliver learning solutions and technical training classes in compliance with performance-based learning system and OL standards
  • validate data in Strategia, execute data analysis and prepare reports on skills / certification status for own area customers
  • execute data entry in Strategia
  • develop and maintain coaching network
  • partner with management to manage technical competencies in dedicated areas
  • develop and execute learning projects


  • All regulations, mandatory certifications and QAPI requirements are in place and maintained
  • All workstation profiles (Trade roles, mandatory certifications, workstation specific roles and workstation critical skills) are created and maintained in Strategia LMS; are compliant to regulations, Bombardier engineering specifications and OL Standards; all employees are identified and appointed in Strategia LMS; are regularly verified and data integrity ensured
  • Learning content development are developed and delivered under OL standards
  • Assessment and granting of certifications and technical skills are enforced according to OL standards
  • Audit results on learning (TC, FAA, etc.) are addressed
  • Periodic assessment of certifications and technical skills for blue collars are plan and executed
  • Recommendations on adjustment to perform as per QAPI requirements and OL standards are formally provided
  • Training as per QAPI, mandatory certifications management and regulatory compliance is available and delivered by LBP when needed"
  • All steps of performance-based learning system are in place and maintained
  • All workstation profiles are completed in Strategia LMS as per OL standards
  • All employees are trained & evaluated on basic initial training skills (cote of 1 in all competencies of their trade role in Strategia LMS)
  • All employees are trained and evaluated on requested certifications that are maintained up to date as per re certification schedule
  • All employees are trained and evaluated on workstation specific skills as required
  • Explanation of performance-based learning standards is available and delivered by LBP when needed
  • Learning solution proposal developed
  • Upon approval, learning solution development and training mandate jointly developed between LBP and TLA and signed by customer
  • Technical courses are developed using OL standards on course development process steps and are respectful of pedagogical and andragogical principles
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 year of training experience or 5-8 years of industry experience
  • General aeronautical knowledge preferred
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with internal and external customer
  • Previous training experience preferred
  • Must be able to use Microsoft office
  • Able to work day and evening training shifts

Working Conditions/Physical Demands (for ex. Lifting, working in heights):

Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens.  Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings.   Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment.  Working on jigs at fuselage at a height of 15 feet.  Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet.

Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 55lbs/25kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.

Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 55lbs/25kg.

Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.

Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.

Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.

Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.

Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time.

Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
