Position Summary:  The ANDON Cabin integrator will support urgent design requests and lead ANDON (line stoppage or aircraft delivery holding) activities related to A220 aircraft interior components, in support of, and in collaboration with Work Package 4 CSALP(C-Series Aircraft Limited Partnership) Interior Engineering Management. Components will include but not be limited to F2F (Floor to Floor), lavatories, galleys, storages and other cabin modules The position requires developing solutions to a variety of simple to complex engineering problems requiring judgment and ingenuity.  The ANDON Integrator works with internal customers, suppliers and customers to develop and co-ordinate implementation of aircraft delivery critical engineering design solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Essential Duties:
  • Mainly provide support to the resolution of urgent and ANDON (line stoppage or aircraft delivery critical) engineering design issues related to A220 interior components.
  • Establish short, medium and long term engineering resolutions to problems and ensure incorporation into the aircraft to enable on-time aircraft delivery.
  • Plan and lead meetings with aircraft cabin integrators to ensure resolutions are incorporated in subsequent aircraft and thus prevent problem re-occurrence.
  • Resolve technical problems by all possible means including conferring with specialists that would critically affect performance, cost, or schedule.
  • Represents the CSALP to customers or suppliers on technical matters related to the ANDON problem resolution.
  • Provide technical input to engineering project and cabin supplier teams for ANDON resolution.
  • Provide input to engineering processes and suggest modifications regarding the design and development of aircraft cabins and components as appropriate.
  • Provide input to the design engineering elements of the integrated project plan to ensure it is technically robust.
  • Provide a clear communication link between all parties involved in ANDON plan execution.
  • Ensure that the ANDON solution can be certified and all the necessary data for test and certification is produced.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Strong liaison with other departments internally, externally and internationally especially Change Management and the FAL (Final Assembly Line).

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 


  • Bachelor's degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in engineering or similar related subject area is required.

    • Job position requires 5 years to 7 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Required
    • Experience in vendor technical management of cabin suppliers viewed as an advantage.
    • Must have a strong capability in MS Office Products and have the ability to learn new toolsets as required.
    • Must have the ability to be self-directed and work in diverse teams
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English with French languages a distinct advantage.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Ability to communicate verbally and writing
  • Proficient in English

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • CAD experience is essential with Catia V4, VPM, Catia V5, 3dCo

Travel Required:

  • up to 20% (including international) an initial period of training will be required in Mirabel QC Canada for up to 6 months

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings.   Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Working on jigs at fuselage at a height of 15 feet. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 55lbs/25kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
