Position Summary:

Direct Support to the Flight Line Leads by coordinating and supporting activities necessary to insure aircraft Quality and cycle time is achieved. The supervisor provides support with internal and external supplier's coordination, material and documentation requirement, tooling requirement and applicable employee issues from uniforms, training, PTO, time keeping, shifts, safety and disciplinary action as necessary. The supervisor supports the Flight Line Manager with daily activities coordination and liaison with the associated Lead.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the leads when an issue is identified. The supervisor will coordinate and identify a clear resolution path for the leads to apply, allowing the Aircraft and associated team to continue progressing.
  • Support the Flight Line Manager for daily activities coordination, such as but not limited to, task, priorities, employee time keeping, Safety, clean as you go, FOD, tool control, uniform, employee training, hiring, disciplinary action, activity reporting, etc...
  • The Supervisor will support the Flight line Manager with various projects, especially, but not limited to, process improvement.
  • Review, with Management, associated Flight Line KPIs and propose adjustment for improving and achieving internal targets.
  • Act, correct and prevent Non-conformity issues in a timely matter. Identify root cause and implement, monitor corrective actions.
  • Able to work with all the layers of the organization and to interface with other departments.
  • Makes recommendation for salary increases (promotion, merit, and adjustment), transfers, hires, and disciplinary actions including termination.
  • Ensure Compliance with applicable rules and regulations/company policies and procedures relating to workmanship.
  • Ensure that employees are in compliance with OSHA, safety and environmental regulations.
  • This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Able to work in Part 21 and Part 145
  • Able to support, as needed, Weekends and Nights activities.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

  • Experience in Managing a Team.
  • Work with the principles, practices, methods and tools used in aircraft manufacturing
  • Work with non-conformities.
  • Work with quality managing system.
  • Knowledge of health safety and environmental regulation.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with internal customer

Education:

  • Educated in Management or Technical field related tasks within this Job description or a related field experience.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in an aviation related field.
  • Result oriented. In addition to guide/coordinate, able to perform and do.
  • People oriented. Easy contact with multiple layers of the organization.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • A&P License

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Able to respect processes and procedures.
  • Able to take quick decision based on available information and Managing associated risk.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with internal and external entities at all level of Management.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Working experience in SAP environment is a plus.

 

  • Must be able to use Microsoft office.

Travel Required:

  • Potentially once a year domestic or international.

  • This Position is responsible to ensure on time, on cost and on quality Aircraft delivery to Airbus end Customers.
  • This position has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and customer image of Airbus FAL USA.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: able to see and utilize computer screens; able to move through office and from point to point to find specific co-workers and in-house experts.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate standard office equipment and utilize electronic id to enter building
  • Carrying: able to carry up to 40 lbs./18kg. when transporting documents, printer paper and similar items.
  • Lifting: able to lift up to 40lbs/18kg. on occasion.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push/pull office chairs and pieces of equipment
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer terminal while writing bulletins or participating in meetings
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to occasionally able to squat/kneel to access items stored on low shelving
  • Standing: able to stand for long periods of time working or in meetings and discussions
  • Travel: able to travel through office/work complex and occasionally within US for business meetings.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas sometimes on uneven surfaces to reach meetings, visitors and direct others to meetings.
