Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Supervisor, Work Material Planning (WMP), the Supplier Planner is responsible for the coordination of all work and materials required for the On-Site Service (OSS) Suppliers to complete their assembly obligations. The Supplier Planner will also problem-solve and escalate any issues related to OSS part shortages.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all Supplier parts and work to be performed across all Stations in accordance with the Surge Team.
  • Plan work activities of OSS Supplier personnel, coordinating with the Work Planners of various work stations;
  • Plan material requirements at work station, as per the scheduled OSS work activities;
  • Lead interface with Mirabel Procurement Operations for shortage resolution; responsible for executing Contingency Plan and schedule for work to be performed.
  • Execute materials required for rescheduling in case of planned shortages (Contingency Plan);
  • Investigation in cases of missing parts (including physical search coordinated with 3PL);
  • Perform inflow analysis (ex Non Conformities, work orders, QLB, TLB...) and new points' distribution.
  • Record information in "Aircraft Progress" record and define daily priorities with the Station Managers.
  • Generate the daily Surge Team Activity Report (folio point's analysis).
  • Guarantees that all information in "Aircraft Progress" concerning the FAL and Plants CA are in accordance with the actual physical state of the subject aircraft.
  • Participate in the Quality Gate Meetings (Aircraft Transfer Between 2 Stations).
  • Provide and execute solutions for over-issues: remove from stock, specific request to 3PL, cannibalize, input requirement for new one, rework etc...
  • Coordinate Secondary flow with Operational Procurement and 3PL, including non-standard issue parts;
  • Support departmental adherence to KPIs related to Health & Safety, Quality and Productivity;
  • Participate in daily team meetings to address issues impacting Operations
  • Support implementation of procedures and work instructions to support the manufacturing and quality system;
  • Actively identify opportunities and support / participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S;
  • Support effective communication between Business Units;
  • Prepare and issue relevant management reports and ensure visual management tools are maintained;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 

 Education:

  • Diploma in any Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Operations Management-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Experience:

  • Experience with production assembly, material and work planning, and schedule management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in work/ material or tool management.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • General knowledge of material and equipment used in the aviation industry;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of shop floor safety and OSHA regulations;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and provide solutions;
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and apply LEAN knowledge and techniques;
  • Ability to enter and retrieve information using a computer (SAP, Excel and Access advanced user);
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Able to enter and retrieve information using a computer (SAP, Excel and Access advance user)

Travel Required:

  • Periods of frequent International travel

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens.  Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions.  Must be able to read wire numbers, and differentiate colors
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings.   Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time on short notice.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
