Position Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Operations, this position is responsible for project managing any ICT or Business solution requested by the Airbus FAL in Mobile.

Primary Responsibilities:

Planning & Budgeting:

  • Contribute to the yearly Master Plan exercise by providing inputs / opportunities to the ICT Governance team
  • Evaluate costs and budget requirements (OPEX and CAPEX) for the foreseen projects and services in the manufacturing area
  • Follow-up budget and costs related to projects and services activities
  • Works with ICT Governance to identify and capture (operational and project) license cost elements in the ICT budget.
  • Maintains the portfolio of infrastructure projects including obsolescence planning for infrastructure services of the Airbus FAL

Project Management:

  • Partner with the business to better understand manufacturing, supply chain and logistics processes in order to deliver innovative / digital solutions bringing value to the Airbus FAL.
  • Collaborate with the business on one side and with the infrastructure teams on the other side to ensure the proper design and implementation of business application projects in the frame of local or division wide or group wide initiatives
  • Accountable for developing clear and concise requirements for projects.
  • Plans and drives execution of the major strategic projects, working cross-functionally to manage risks, cost, quality, and rollout over the duration, identifying and resolving concerns or blockers as they arise
  • Identifies, secures and oversees the appropriate level of project management resources for projects.
  • Liaise and synchronize with the ICT infrastructure team to ensure smooth deployment and appropriate level of performance of the end to end services

Service Operations:

  • Collaborates with local and central Service Delivery Managers and resources to support entry into service and operational hand-offs are completed for applications and digital solutions deployed in the Airbus FAL.
  • Provides resource capacity planning for Service Integration and Documentation elements of the project to ensure proper maintenance of operational documentation and procedures.
  • Responsible for deploying infrastructure solutions designed for FAL operations and integrated back in Europe
  • Responsible for guaranteeing the proper level of service according to agreed SLA established with the business (FAL)

Additional Responsibilities:  

  • After hours project execution and integration support when applicable
  • Collaborates with global Airbus ICT manufacturing counterparts to develop and improve processes and solutions for the Airbus FAL
  • Ensures compliance with security standards & evolving cyber security requirements.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree or other certification preferred


  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, working independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholder groups in a large, multi-team environment
  • Must have at least 3 to 5 years' experience managing infrastructure and ICT operational projects.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in utilizing Portfolio KPIs and metrics to successfully manage delivery outcomes.

License /Certifications:

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP)

  • Sharp, energetic, assertive, results-oriented and able to shift gears when needed in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Ability to present ideas, collaborate effectively and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge in Analytics and Visual Management business needs

Communication Skills :

  • Excellent, clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to explain complex topics in simple terms and or aligned with business acumen.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, German or French language skills are a plus

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Experience with Resource Planning and Allocations and different project management strategies
  • Experience with KPI's / Metric development and measurement

Travel Required:

  • 10% Domestic and International

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

    • Leader of complex infrastructure projects across cross-divisional international boundaries.
    • Lead a project portfolio of 4 -10 projects including infrastructure integration, visual management and digitalization projects as well as business projects for the Airbus FAL in Mobile.
    • Project locations include 2 sites in Mobile AL
    • Acquisition of company assets and/or services influenced by this position exceed 100k USD annually
    • Successful delivery of projects on time, quality, and budget contribute to the company's annual savings targets

  • Carrying: able to carry up to 10lbs/4.5kg for up to 200 feet. Able to carry office supplies and small pieces of equipment.
  • Lifting: Able to lift items from where they are stored and replace them.
  • Pushing / Pulling: Able to push/pull small pieces of office furniture; arrange conference rooms; otherwise facilitate day-to-day business.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer; in meetings; at conferences with minimal breaks.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: Able to squat/kneel to retrieve or place items on low storage shelves and to pick up dropped items.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time in meetings; conducting tours and similar activities.
  • Travel: Able to travel via car and plane both domestically and internationally, if needed.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas to seek out individuals or conduct tours including sometimes on uneven surfaces including the flightline.
