Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for maintaining the Quality Performance system for the Final Assembly Line while employing certain manufacturing analysis to support improvements on cost, quality and time encompassed by Lean Performance (key performance indicators-KPI). This position is a key team component of the Quality Excellence and Quality Performance System enabling Airbus Americas Final Assembly Line to become a competitive Aircraft Manufacturer and World Class Manufacturing Facility.

 

 

Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities ):

 

 Participates in manufacturing operations to present data/analysis, and utilizes performance improvement methodology to facilitate effective KPI reporting and provide this data to prepare and define improvement projects and action-plans. Support project teams and action-plan holders with the relevant data and propose, based on indicators, areas for Quality and Operational business improvements.  

Assures the Quality Management System and Work Instructions are at a high level of program compliance including quality processes and procedures that produce high quality products and services throughout the FAL.

Evaluates and communicates results of process capability studies and other ongoing process monitoring systems to assure continued reduction in defect rates, rework, and other avoidable, non-value-added costs, adhering to a set of indicators related to Quality on deliverables to the FAL USA:

 

  •          Quality Gate results,
  •          Outstanding work
  •          Concessions

Monitor FAL trends regarding different target areas and support Quality and Production departments in targeting clear improvement areas with defined action plans.

Maintain FAL-USA reporting a set of Indicators for SA Program Management, liaising with Central Quality to harmonize the output across Single Aisle and Airbus.

 

Provide support to all FAL department for setting a relevant and permanent set of Indicators.

 

Support Lean Quality Manufacturing by waste identification.  

           

 Support Aircraft Quality Conformance Management team peers when required to secure Quality objectives.

 Making proposals for Quality product/process/policy improvements and where required lead through changes to benefit cost, quality and time deliverables.    

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements (Skills needed):

 

  Ability to understand and implement the of principles, practices, methods, tools, and materials used in a manufacturing environment supporting the quality management.

  •          Knowledge of industrial technical processes
  •          Knowledge of performance measurement and KPI management
  •          Profound knowledge of MS Office tools (EXCEL, Power Point, )
  •          Knowledge of data analysis providing target setting through visual methods
  •          Knowledge of problem solving database tools
  •          Intercultural experience

 

Nice to have:

  •          Knowledge of rules for aircraft-design and -manufacturing
  •          Knowledge of ERP applications such as SAP/R3 (Module QM/PP/MM)
  •          Knowledge of Airbus process, methods and tools
  •          Knowledge of Airbus IT-Tools (CAIR, Zamiz, CAPRI, NormMaster)

Education/Special Qualifications:

 You have at least Associate and/or Technical level of Qualification related to Engineering/Manufacture with focus on Quality Performance Management and/or have a degree in Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
