Position Summary:

The job holder is in charge of the X-Plant Team production operations.  Manage and lead manufacturing activities.   Objective is to achieve all Outstanding Works coming from PLANTS (W/), NC, CR) and manage non-conformities detected on aircraft (NC, TLB, QLB, QSR) during FAL and Flightline process.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Management and monitoring of the XP-Team production operation.
  • Airbus plants "representative" within FAL USA.  Insure information feedback at Plants Level and FAL Level.
  • Participate in assessing the right personnel placement according to needs and the employees' qualification (present and future).
  • Ensure Industrial and Safety Regulations are strictly respected.  Guide and support employees to individual responsibility and self-control.
  • Develop plans to attract, retain, and develop employees to meet industry requirements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to develop XP-Team organization to increase flexibility and manage costs.

General responsibilities

  • Responsible to achieve all OSW and to manage non-conformances detected on aircraft during FAL process.
  • Determine priorities in collaboration with FAL Station Managers.
  • Insure the performing of the specified work package in compliance with costs, schedule, and quality.
  • Identify and eliminate problems, which occur in the manufacturing process, as quickly and as early as possible.  Anticipate, wherever possible.
  • Responsible for direct reports.
  • Strong interactions (functional links) with several Central Departments such as ME, MAP, Quality, Logistics, Conformity, Design Office.
  • Participate in achieving the annual objectives (e.g. CI, Quality Gates and specific KPIs).

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Airbus Plant activities management is required.
  • 5 years of experience in Aviation (ACM, Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly Processes, etc.)
  • Experience in Project/KPI Management.
  • Approved knowledge of Quality / Logistics rules in aviation.
  • Must have excellent communication skills on different levels, a structured way of working and the ability to deal with a volume of complex information. Must have significant work experience in project management and international Team Management.
  • Experience in a multi-cultural work environment.


Education/Special Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant field.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
