Position Summary: 

Responsible for introducing and maintaining the technical incoming inspection of Aircraft assemblies, detailed parts and equipment supplied to the FAL-USA.  The main focus of the role will be on goods directly shipped from the suppliers. Responsible for deploying all relevant Quality Management procedures for logistics and supply-chain in FAL-USA using the SAP system to manage and provide full visibility.

Also responsible to manage the flow of parts and returned assemblies to companies performing extended workbench activities for Aircraft detailed parts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all aircraft manufacturing components (i.e. major structure, interior finish furniture, mechanical, avionics, electrical, hydraulic systems) comply with the specifications established by Bombardier Standards and the Canadian Aviation Standards Board.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Perform visual and manual inspections using measurement tools based on engineering standards, procedures and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Assign reference numbers and shelf life expiration dates to the appropriate materials.
  • Conduct audits, approve work deemed compliant and write non-compliance inspection reports and technical defect sheets.
  • Make the link with operators on the floor, engineering and methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: 


  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction / Manufacturing of Aircraft, Mechanical Engineering or similar field or Vocational Diploma in similar field.


  • 1-4 years of relevant experience
  • Airline experience is desirable

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in Quality Inspection and Quality.
  • Management as well as contract monitoring.
  • Knowledge of non-conformities/changes in design query notes.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Specifically, English which is required operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.

Travel Required:

  • Periods of frequent travel

 Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings; Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions
  • Space Limitations: Able to work on jigs at fuselage at a height of 15 feet.
